May 2010 - London England

If you are in London and love Indian food you MUST go to Brick Lane.

And if you love reading you MUST read this book about immigrants in this area.
Brick Lane

We ate here twice on our last visit. The second time we met up with Canadian friends who just happened to be in London at the same time.

Brick Lane is a street in East London. It runs from Swanfield Street in the northern part of Bethnal Green, crosses Bethnal Green Road, passes through Spitalfields and is linked to Whitechapel High Street to the south by the short stretch of Osborn Street. Today, it is the heart of the city's Bangladeshi-Sylheti community and is known to some as Banglatown.

You never know what might be taking place.

Or what you might see.

  1. Quite an enclave. What draws my eye is that sign for The Jolly Butcher.
